I receive so many client inquiries about current and future relationships that I decided a couple of years ago to use my studies of Hermetics and Metaphysics to determine the ingredients of the perfect relationship.  But let’s start by talking about how and why we magnetize relationships…

We each came into this world with a blueprint reflecting how we had evolved up until that time (the soul). This unique and highly intricate blueprint is really a map of the soul showing what strengths and weaknesses we have developed as we have evolved.  It also details where we tend to experience conflict or harmony.  In this physical world, we each have a physical body – we can’t be here without one. But we also have an astral body on the astral plane which exists above the physical plane.  The physical and astral bodies interact through electromagnetism. The astral body contains the astral brain which in turn stores the sum total of our experiences.  I had the idea some time ago that if we could access the astral brain to unravel and understand a person’s sum total of experiences or soul, we can help that person to become everything that they should be in life.  We can also help that person to truly understand themselves and to navigate life with a heightened sense of self-awareness that enables them to create wonders.

As my studies continued, I began looking in depth at relationships.  We are all profoundly psychic.  For example, you monitor the environment around you at all times even though it does not necessarily enter your conscious awareness.  After all, we can only consciously focus on so much at once. When we meet people, we detect so much about them psychically, but for most people this awareness remains unconscious rather than overtly present in their conscious mind. Now, we are all here to evolve and that means learning… So, we telekinetically magnetize what we need for our growth.  Unfortunately we often grow through difficult experiences, but ideally we would grow through harmonious experiences.  So here we are, unconsciously aware of our blueprint and telekinetically magnetizing what we need in order to grow.  So, we magnetize relationships (amongst other things). So often, we draw in relationships that force growth through adversity. We have all been there, cried the tears, torn up the photographs and put ourselves back together.  But, relationships can and should be wonderfully harmonious.  They should be exquisite like the finest French patisserie instead of the iced donut that we just regret.

We each require different ingredients in the right relationship, but there is a core of ingredients that make a relationship successful. There should be a magnetic and exciting physical attraction and sexual connection; similarity of outlook in life; complimentary skills and characteristics that harmoniously bring growth to each partner; intellectual stimulation; interests in common; and a deeply spiritual or karmic connection.  As I studied away for hours at night, I realized that this is what we all want and need in a harmonious, educational, steamy, stimulating, life-long partnership. Now we all know this deep down, but how do we find it?  I always advise clients to work on themselves.  I say things like “become the best version of yourself; fall madly in love with yourself; create a wonderful life; be your own best friend, guide, guardian and mentor” – all good advice in my opinion. But then I became determined to identify through hermetics and metaphysics how to identify the right partner, and I realized that it is possible – it is possible to determine the dates on which highly compatible souls were born… I currently charge $150 for a one hour consultation and generally spend about two hours in preparation.  It is wonderful to work with people in this way either face to face or by telephone.  I do as much free work as I can, but there are only so many hours in the day. I recently read a book entitled “Lifetide: The Biology of the Unconscious” by Lyall Watson.  Watson describes a thirty year research project on the Japanese monkey known as Macaca Fuscata. Scientists placed sweet potatoes in the sand for the monkeys to eat on the island of Koshima. Although the monkeys liked the sweet potatoes, they didn’t like the sand.  One of the female monkeys discovered that she could wash the potatoes and showed her mother how to do so. Her friends and their mothers also learned how to wash the potatoes.  Between 1952 and 1958 the scientists recorded the activity of the monkeys as they each learned to wash the sweet potatoes.  Once one hundred of the monkeys had learned to wash the potatoes, all monkeys on the island suddenly began to do the same.  It was as though the number one hundred was a critical mass that then caused the behavior to magically spread across the whole island. What is even more astonishing is that monkeys on other islands began to do the exact same thing!  There was no way at all that the monkeys could communicate the new behavior from one island to another.  The scientists concluded that a morphogenetic structure connected the species regardless of distance.

Scientists have also explored whether this kind of morphogenetic field existed between humans. They created a picture with many human faces in it, but it took training to see them – most people could only see six.  This experiment was conducted with several hundred people in Australia.  They then experimented in England where they went one step further and showed people on the television how to see the faces. All of a sudden, people in Australia could see all of the faces in the picture without any assistance…

I have spent much of my life to date studying spirituality and metaphysics.  In recent years, I have invested most of my free time engaged in Hermetic studies.  The word “Hermetic” dates back to the legend of the Egyptian “Toth” also known as Hermes Trismegistis. Toth was an expert in arts and sciences ranging from philosophy to astrology.

The more I learn, the more I receive confirmation that we are part of something much greater than our individuality. Those of you that have worked or studied with me know about my belief that everything in life is synchronistically orchestrated.  Having studied metaphysics for many years, I know that the events of our lives are part of a great evolutionary plan.  I have often said that I don’t believe in coincidence, but I probably should have studied the word!  “Coincide” actually means “to occupy the same space in time”. Now, this is something that I do believe in!

Let’s take the example of astrology… Most people think of horoscopes when they hear the word “astrology”.  Horoscopes are very interesting, but they generally only refer to the position of the Sun in one’s astrological chart.  The Sun is extremely significant – without it there is no light, heat, or life. It is, in fact, the positive electrical energy of the Sun combined with the magnetic or receptive energy of the Moon that keeps us alive.  The two are like either end of a battery. The Moon actually governs the movement of our oceans as well as other liquids such as amniotic fluid – this is why more babies are born when there is a full Moon.  The full Moon actually pulls the amniotic fluid.

Horoscopes aside, really advanced metaphysical insight such as astrology can be used to understand what is going on in life and to accurately predict events. Let’s look at an example.

The seventh house in a person’s chart governs marriage. Prince William’s seventh house contains the Sun and the Moon. In other words, his long term relationships are ruled by the Sun and the Moon. In order to predict when a person will marry, we search for what we call “major progressed aspects” to the ruler of the seventh house.  It is the major progressed aspect that provides the backdrop of energy and circumstance making an event possible. The major progressed aspect is a little like a keg of dynamite.  For an event to occur, there also needs to be a minor progressed aspect which acts like a fuse.  The event is triggered by the transit of a planet in aspect to the terminal of the keg of dynamite and the fuse.  In other words, the transiting planet is like the match that lights the fuse which then unleashes the dynamite.

But what does this mean? It means that pretty much everything can be predicted. We can predict excitingly harmonious events and ride the wave of joy. We can also predict disharmonious events and apply mental alchemy to avoid them.

Let’s look again at Prince William to prove the point.  On the very day of his marriage, his progressed Venus (planet of love) was right on top of his natal Sun and his progressed Uranus formed what we call an “inconjunct aspect” to his natal Sun. These aspects represent the keg of dynamite making marriage possible. Minor progressed aspects (the fuses) were also in place. On the very day that he married Kate Middleton, perfectly transiting planets engaged the terminals of these stellar aspects and triggered the wedding like a crescendo of matrimonial fireworks.

As we can calculate the future movement of the planets, nearly all events in life can be predicted. Our Universe is like an incredible organism of which we each represent one cell of consciousness.  Everything is perfectly interrelated – by analyzing the whole we can tune in to each part.

I have always loved mathematics and have studied hard to teach myself how to perform astrological calculations in my mind during readings. If we each learn to tune in to spirit through our intuition and mediumship, combining our inquiries with incredibly powerful metaphysical tools, we can see everything.  And seeing everything gives us much greater control of our lives. Perhaps the most famous premonitions are those of Michel de Nostradamus – the reputed seer that we still speak of around the world today. Nostradamus discovered his special gifts at an early age and began to predict birth dates and the sex of unborn children. He was also summoned by Catherine de Medici (King Henry II’s queen) to read astrological charts as an unofficial court advisor. Nostradamus foresaw World War II, JFK’s assassination, and the fall of communism. Nostradamus also gave the date of the French revolution as 1789 and correctly predicted the execution of the King and Queen. He predicted World War I, prophesying cruelty and terror by land, in the sea and air.  Nostradamus was puzzled by visions of airplanes describing them as “a flock of ravens high in the air, and throwing fire from the sky on the cities and on the soldiers below.” He named the King of Bulgaria “fair haired Ferdinand”, foresaw the collapse of the Turkish Empire, the independence of Hungary, Bohemia and Poland as well as the enlargement of Romania and the creation of Yugoslavia.  Nostradamus’ book “The Prophecies” was first published in 1555. Apart from the bible, it is the only prophetic work to remain in print since the 16th century.

A well-known Australian medium, Mrs. Foster Turner also predicted World War I in front of an audience of 1,000 people:

“Now, although there is not at present a whisper of a great European war at hand, yet I want to warn you that before this year, 1914, has run its course, Europe will be deluged in blood. Great Britain, our beloved nation, will be drawn into the most awful war the world has ever known. Germany will be the great antagonist, and will draw other nations in her train. Austria will totter to its ruins. Kings and kingdoms will fall. Millions of precious lives will be slaughtered, but Britain will finally triumph and emerge victorious.”

In Major W Tudor Pole’s Private Dowding, the following communication from the beyond was published: “So far as I am allowed to see, peace will be reestablished during 1919, and world-federations will come into being during the following seven years. Although actual fighting may end in 1918, it will take many years to bring poise and peace into actual and permanent being.” All of these predictions came true.

Some people experience precognitive dreams – lucid visions of what will come to pass in time. Carl Jung asserted that we miss out on a huge part of our psyche’s potential if we ignore our dreams. When I awake at 4.27 am, remembering a dream, it is always a precognitive warning of something that is going to happen. But, how is it that we may see the future when dreaming? Scientists have proven that, during the dream state, we utilize the parts of the brain that sense rather than analyze. This concept is similar to psychics simply trusting their impressions as they suspend the rational, analytical mind.

Ask your guides to give you useful precognitive insight in you sleep state – they won’t let you down.

Many great minds have been fascinated by the mysterious depth and magical accuracy of astrology.  Sir Isaac Newton (perhaps one the of the greatest intellects to have graced our planet) once had the following exchange with Edmund Halley:

Edmund Halley: “Why do you believe in Astrology?”

Sir Isaac Newton: “I have studied the subject, Mr. Halley. You have not!”

Benjamin Franklin, Carl Jung, and Galileo also believed in astrology. It is the world’s oldest science as reflected by this quote from Joanne Martine Woolfolk: “The Study of the Sun, the Moon, stars, eclipses, day and night, began well before recorded history.  There are reindeer bones and tusks of mammoths from the Ice Age that have notches carved on them picturing the phases of the Moon.  These bones and tusks are dated between 25,000 and 10,000 B.C., and some scientists place them as long ago as 32,000 B.C.!”

I have found astrology to be an extremely comprehensive tool for understanding the human psyche as well as the manner in which our universe operates. I believe that our universe is one great organism and that we are each part of the whole. At the time of birth, when we inspire (drawing the spiritual being into the physical vessel), the solar system perfectly depicts the uniqueness of our paths and opportunities in life.

When Whitney Houston sadly passed to spirit on the 11th February, I was intrigued to explore her astrology to understand how the planets and asteroids were aligned in her chart at that tragic moment.  There is actually an asteroid named Whitney – at 3 degrees Aries, it was conjoined Venus which is the planet ruling song. It was also conjunct (unconsciously merged with) the planet Uranus at 2 degrees.  Uranus is often symbolic of sudden disruptions, accidents or shocks. Asteroid Whitney was squared Pluto (modern ruler of death amongst other things) in her chart at 8 degrees Capricorn also forming a sesquiquadrate (a smaller square) with her sun (her essence) in Leo. Squares are challenging aspects.

Whitney’s natal Mars (drive, activity, energy) in Libra was also squared by Pluto. The transiting asteroid Bacchus conjoined Pluto at 2 degrees Capricorn. Bacchus often indicates the use of alcohol or drugs (probably pharmaceutical).  Bacchus was also conjunct transit asteroid Ophelia, named after a character from Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” who accidentally drowns herself in a stream.  At 14 degrees Aquarius, asteroid Houston conjoined her natal Atropos (named after the Greek Fate who severs the thread of life at death) in Aquarius and transit Panacea (ruling pharmaceuticals) at 9 degrees Aquarius creating an ominous T-Square with her natal Neptune (drugs, alcohol, addiction) in Scorpio and natal Venus/Sun conjunct in Leo.

Whitney’s Houston’s astrology actually reveals far more detail about the alignments at her time of death, but my point here is to highlight the level of insight that we can glean from astrology rather than to report on Whitney’s tragic passing.  Why is this important? Because so many of us live life unaware of the incredible information provided by the Universe for our self-actualization, not to mention guidance towards good choices and the avoidance of tragedy.

If you haven’t yet explored the vast amount of information provided by your natal chart and astrological transits, I highly recommend it.  Living without this knowledge is like living on a ship without a rudder.

Whitney Houston is a wonderful reminder that we are born into this world with wonderful talents and opportunities to make the world a better place.  Nobody will forget Whitney Houston’s great talent, but are you clear about yours?

It started out in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from three worlds: Technology, Entertainment, and Design. Since then its scope has become ever broader. TED really is a great forum for people to share innovative ideas.
